Apprenticeship as polymechanic EFZ

Activity

Depending on the company, polymechanics manufacture products such as tools, equipment, components or production facilities made of steel, chrome steel, aluminum or plastics. For this purpose they work by hand or with computer-controlled machines. Programming is done using 2D or 3D data and is programmed from design drawings. Since the raw materials and machines are very expensive, a polymechanic must work very carefully and responsibly. They must also have good spatial and abstract thinking so that they can realize the product from the drawing in 3D and manufacture it accordingly. Because of the many different work steps, the profession is very exciting and interesting and demands new ideas from the polymechanics so that the requirements can be met perfectly.

Apprenticeship at SKS AG

At SKS AG we build tools and components for injection moulding. This means that apprentices learn the profession of polymechanics for toolmaking/plastics with us. We are able to offer a versatile apprenticeship, as we use many different processes such as milling, turning, countersinking, grinding and eroding in our tool shop. In the vocational school RĂ¼ti the theoretical basics are learned. Through the practical work in our tool shop, the apprentices produce workpieces by hand and later in the training on the computer-controlled, fully automated machines. The setting up of the tools and the programming of the different machines is taught. Our motivated team teaches the apprentices everything they need to successfully complete the training. We offer training in a G or E profile with or without a associate degree.
